The Safari Pools story starts many years ago with our founder, Tony–who didn’t always think he would end up growing into an industry-leading pool expert! Tony Friedman has been working in the pool industry nearly as far back as he can remember. He began his career in his youth, cleaning swimming pools as a kid and building an intimate relationship with the nuances of the industry.
However, his path to building Safari Pools was all but linear. Fresh out of high school, Tony joined the Marine Corps in order to pay for college. After serving he graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. However, his first job out of school was working as an operations manager for a large corporation–but after some time with the company, he realized deep down that it wasn’t his “forever” path.
Before he knew it, he found himself cleaning pools on the side as he worked to build his new business (now Safari Pools), opening himself up to more career freedom and enjoyment. After carefully building his team and his list of credentials, he now operates one of the highest-value pool services companies in the greater New Orleans area. After finally making the career leap to follow his passion in 2018, Safari Pools has been growing ever since, now building around 20 pools a year and renovating as many as 40.
